Stake.us Review: Crypto Sweepstakes Play With a Shrinking Map

Stake.us runs on Gold Coins and Stake Cash, buys and redeems through crypto, and lives under a 3x rollover. We read its help centre to see how it works, and why your state decides everything.

Our verdict

7.0/10

Stake.us has a crypto-first cashier and a well-documented help centre, but a 3x rollover applies to purchase-linked Stake Cash before you can redeem. Its weakness is geography: a growing list of states has shut sweepstakes casinos down, and the numbers conflict between sources. Check your state first, then your tolerance for crypto.

Best for: Crypto-comfortable sweepstakes players in states where it still runs

What we liked

  • Buys, plays and redeems around crypto, with a vault for storing coins
  • VIP ladder with weekly and monthly bonuses that pay out in SC and GC
  • Help centre is detailed on redemption, verification and the rollover
  • Daily free-play bonuses mean you can play without buying coins

What held it back

  • Purchase-linked Stake Cash carries a 3x rollover before it can be redeemed
  • Redemption minimums and processing times are not stated in the help articles
  • Weekly VIP bonuses are collected through a Telegram channel
  • Several states have restricted or banned the site, and lists conflict

The main question about Stake.us is no longer how good the games are. It is whether you are allowed to play them. Sweepstakes casinos have been shut out of a growing number of US states, and Stake.us has been among the sites caught in it. If you are in a state where it still runs, it is one of the more capable sweepstakes operators. If you are not, nothing else in this review matters.

Note how we worked on this one. The main Stake.us site blocked our automated page capture, so the pictures below come from its public help centre, and the facts come from those help articles plus third-party sources, flagged where they conflict.

Two coins, one of which matters

Stake.us uses two virtual tokens. Gold Coins (GC) are for play and cannot be redeemed. Stake Cash (SC) is the sweepstakes currency and is the only one you can redeem for prizes. Both are described in the help centre as virtual tokens with no monetary value of their own, and the stated goal is entertainment rather than financial gain.

The collection has six articles: Gold Coins, Sweep Coins (Stake Cash), exchanging Gold Coins for Stake Cash, storing SC and GC in the vault, redeeming rewards, and redemption progress. Notably, none of the collection page's text gives an exchange rate or a minimum.

The rollover is the number to know

Here is where Stake.us is stricter than many readers expect. The help article on redemption progress says Stake Cash received alongside a Gold Coin purchase must be played through 3x before redemption unlocks. Its own example: a 10 SC bonus needs 30 SC in play. Buy again, get more SC, and the redemption section stays locked until that new amount has also been played three times.

Redemption itself needs 2FA or an emailed code, and the redeeming article says you must meet a minimum balance without stating what it is. Third-party reviews quote minimums anywhere from 5 SC to 100 SC, and conflicting fees and processing times, so we would not trust any single figure. Test with a small redemption first, and expect identity checks.

Buying with crypto

Purchases lean on crypto, and the payments collection reads like a crypto tutorial: basics for beginners, how to find a transaction hash, why a purchase takes ages to be credited, and what to do about a pending purchase. If you have never moved coins between a wallet and an exchange, expect a learning curve. Mistakes on-chain cannot be reversed by the site.

The daily purchase limit is $9,000 per 24 hours, a high ceiling that is more a risk than a feature. Set your own limit far below it. A cap exists to protect Stake, not you.

Bonuses: daily, weekly and VIP

You can play without buying: the help centre says players can play free of charge with the daily bonuses on offer. The help centre has no article describing a daily streak with amounts. Streaks apply only to the weekly and monthly bonuses, and claiming early never breaks them.

The weekly bonuses are for VIP players only. They drop each Saturday at 12:30 pm GMT, pay instant SC and GC, and scale with weekly play and VIP rank. You need Bronze rank and a Telegram account, since you collect through the official VIP channel. That is awkward for anyone who wants an account with no social-media ties.

The VIP club is a ladder of ranks with rising bonuses. The ladder rewards volume, and volume is what loses money at any casino.

Do crypto redemptions beat card-based rivals?

On speed, third-party reviews say crypto redemptions arrive within minutes to a few hours, which would beat the several business days typical of bank-based sweepstakes redemptions. We could not confirm this from Stake.us documents, since the redemption article gives no processing time. On flexibility, Stake.us wins if you already hold crypto and loses if you do not. A card-based rival has a gentler first week.

On rollover, a 3x requirement is not unusual in sweepstakes, but read it before your first purchase, not after.

Where you can still play

This is the shaky part. A third-party legal-states list puts the restricted states at roughly 17 to 21, depending on the source, naming Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont, Washington and West Virginia among them. Recent state laws, including California's from January 2026, have pushed operators out. Sources disagree on Maine, Texas and Mississippi. Verify with Stake.us's current terms and your own state regulator before signing up, because laws and lists change month to month.

Verdict

Stake.us earns a 7.0 from us. The product is strong where it is available, and the help centre is better documented than most sweepstakes sites we have read. Points come off for the 3x rollover on purchased SC, undisclosed minimums and times, Telegram-gated VIP bonuses and a legal footing that keeps shifting.

Treat every purchase as spending on entertainment with a built-in house edge. Gambling is not a way to make money, and a redeemable prize is never guaranteed. You must be of legal age in your state, and help is available from the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER.
