How we review

Every score comes from an account we opened, money we deposited and a withdrawal we requested.

A score on Oddsmoor is a number out of 10 with one decimal. It is not an average of star ratings from strangers: it is the test desk's judgement after using the product the way a paying customer would.

The tests

  1. Sign-up and identity checks. How long verification takes, what documents are asked for and whether anything is requested again at withdrawal time.
  2. Deposits. The payment methods offered, minimums, fees and whether the deposit arrives straight away.
  3. Bonus terms. Wagering multipliers, game weighting, maximum bets, expiry and caps on winnings, written down as numbers.
  4. Withdrawals. We request a payout and record the time from request to money in the account, plus any fees or pending periods.
  5. Games and software. The size and quality of the game library, published RTP figures, live dealer tables and how the app behaves on a phone.
  6. Safer-gambling tools. Deposit limits, time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion, and how easy each one is to find.

How the score is weighted

Withdrawals and bonus terms weigh the most, because they are where players lose money they did not expect to lose. Game range, the app and customer support make up the rest. Resorts are scored on the gaming floor, table minimums, rooms, rewards program and overall value. Social casino apps are scored on how far free coins stretch and how hard the app pushes purchases.

Rough guide to the numbers

  • 9.0 and above: we would recommend it without reservations.
  • 8.0 to 8.9: strong, with one or two real drawbacks spelled out in the review.
  • 6.0 to 7.9: usable, but a competitor does the same job better.
  • Below 6.0: we would not open an account here and the review explains why.

Retests and corrections

Terms and payout times change. We retest when an operator changes its bonus, cashier or licence, and a correction note appears on the review when a published fact was wrong.
