Bellagio Las Vegas Review: What the Casino Floor Costs You

Bellagio's 156,000 sq ft casino is free to walk into, but the table minimums run higher than cheaper Strip rivals. We weigh the floor, the poker room and the resort fee against the price.

Our verdict

7.6/10

Bellagio has the best-kept big casino floor on the Strip, a 40-table poker room and free attractions that justify a visit. Table minimums are the catch: $25 to $50 blackjack is common and $10 games are rare, so budget players are better served a few blocks away. Pay for the setting and the service, not for better odds.

Best for: Visitors with a $200+ session budget who want a premium floor

What we liked

  • 156,000 sq ft casino with a wide range of slots and table games
  • Large poker room of about 40 tables, a draw for serious players
  • Free to enter, with free fountains and conservatory outside the casino
  • Wide stakes range on the floor, from low craps tables to high-limit rooms

What held it back

  • Blackjack minimums often sit at $25 to $50 and $10 games are hard to find
  • Nightly resort fee reported at $62.36 and parking is charged separately
  • House edge is the same as at cheaper casinos, so the premium buys atmosphere only
  • Weekend crowds push minimums higher and slow down the walk to the tables

The cheapest way to enjoy Bellagio is to walk in, watch the fountains and leave. The second cheapest is to sit at a craps table with a $5 minimum. After that, the price of a seat climbs quickly. We looked at what the casino floor actually asks of you, set against the cheaper Strip rivals, and the answer is that Bellagio charges for atmosphere, not for better odds.

The minimums are the real admission fee

Entry to the casino is free. The expense starts at the table. A Time Out listing gives Bellagio's blackjack range as $10 to $10,000 but says minimums are often $25 to $50 and that finding a $10 game is hard. Its listing runs from $5 for craps, $25 for mini baccarat and $100 for baccarat. Third-party guides we checked, most of them low-grade, agree on the broad pattern: roughly $25 on weekday daytime tables, and $50 to $100 on weekend nights. We could not verify the figures at the tables, so read the sign before you sit.

Set that against the rest of the Strip. A Review-Journal item reports a live-dealer $5 blackjack table at Excalibur, and guides name Planet Hollywood as a reliable $15 weekday minimum. Sahara is said to deal $10 blackjack, and downtown and off-Strip rooms such as Ellis Island are cheaper again. The house edge on a given blackjack rule set does not change with the carpet, so a $50 minimum simply makes your bankroll swing five to ten times harder than a $5 or $10 one.

What a $200 session buys

Take a $200 stake. At a $25 table with a $25 minimum bet, that is eight hands of risk before a normal bad run takes it. At a $10 table elsewhere, the same money gives you twenty hands at the floor. At $5 craps, it can last an hour or more. Nothing we have seen gives Bellagio a better payout rate for the extra spend, so check the blackjack payout printed on the felt: 3 to 2 on a natural is what you want, and 6 to 5 is a worse deal at any price.

If your budget is under about $150 for the evening, pick a cheaper room. If it is $500 or more and you want a quiet, well-run floor, the premium is easier to justify.

The floor, the poker room and the history

The casino is 156,000 square feet. At opening in October 1998 it had 2,700 slot machines and 173 table games. There is a 2,600 sq ft high-roller salon called Villa Privé, and a high-limit poker room named the Legends Room since October 2020, which had a $20,000 minimum buy-in as of 2018. The general poker room has about 40 tables according to Time Out, which makes it among the largest on the Strip.

Bellagio is not owned by MGM. Blackstone bought the property in 2019 for $4.25 billion, and MGM Resorts operates it under a lease at $245 million a year, with Realty Income holding a 21.9% stake. That matters little at the table, but it explains why a casino this size keeps its pricing firm.

Free attractions that cost nothing and are worth the walk

Two things justify a visit without gambling a cent. The Fountains of Bellagio, a free musical show on an 8.5-acre lake, throw water up to 460 feet and had passed 240,000 performances by October 2018. The 13,500 sq ft Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is also free, with five seasonal themes and about 20,000 visitors daily, per Wikipedia.

Staying there: the resort fee and parking

Room rates vary by date and we do not quote one. The extras are more stable. A resort-fee tracker last updated in May 2026 lists $62.36 per room per night, up from $56.69 in October 2025. Parking is charged separately: estimates run about $18 to $25 a day for self-park and $35 to $40 for valet, with a card hold near $150 a night. These come from third-party sites that disagree, so confirm with MGM before booking.

A three-night stay therefore adds roughly $187 in resort fees before parking. Compare that with your gambling budget. If the fees equal a third of what you plan to wager, the trip is being priced as a hotel stay with a casino attached.

Verdict

Bellagio gets 7.6. The floor is large, clean and varied, the poker room is a draw, and the free attractions are the best on the Strip. It loses points because the cheapest decent blackjack costs $25 and the stay carries nearly $63 a night in fees.
